Woven Polypropylene Bags

Tough strong and long lasting, Woven Polypropylene bags (or WPP for short) are suitable for a wide range of uses. Many sizes and shapes are available directly from our stocks, or the bags can be imported to suit your requirements. Colquhoun's can offer full container load shipments of printed bags delivered direct to your site, but if your storage space won't allow this we can bring the shipment into our premises and supply them to you as required. If you don't have the volume to order these quantities, Colquhoun's can supply bags to you from our warehouses and have them printed by us locally. All of our branches can print these bags and the maximum number of colours we can use is 4 on one or both sides of the bag.

WPP bags can be supplied in many colours other than the standard white. There are several variations on these bags including a gusseted bag, tucked bottom bag and the standard flat bag. All of these options are subtly different and our experienced staff can guide you through the selection process to ensure your expectations are met. WPP bags can be UV stabilised to allow them a longer lifespan in the sunlight, they can have anti slip treatments and glue added to improve handling and stackability and we can supply different bag weaves to suit different uses.

A recent addition to the Colquhoun's range of WPP bags is the Biaxially Orientated Polypropylene printing method (BOPP for short). This style of printing allows you to have a photo quality print placed on to a WPP bag which gives the highest possible print quality available. Our helpful staff will be able to show you examples of what can be achieved using this printing method, and we are sure that your customers will notice the difference in the marketplace.

Laminated WPP Bags

Laminated WPP bags have a layer of extruded PP film hot melted on to it. This gives the fabric a water resistance and is very handy when dealing with food grade products, offensive odours and fine powdery products which can sift through the weave on a normal bag. Colquhoun's can now import Laminated Woven Polypropylene bags with an exceptionally high quality print. As you can see we can use many more colours than conventional printing as well as improving registration and definition.

We can import bags with what we are calling union fabrics. These are bags which have material made from a combination of 2 or more materials. The material could be Woven PP, Paper, Extruded films, Polyethylene, PVC, BOPP (Biaxially Orientated Polypropylene).

Bulk Bags

Otherwise known as FIBC's (Flexible Intermediate Bulk Containers), these items are perfect for use when straight bulk is either not available or impractical, or the costs for using smaller WPP sacks is prohibitive. Bulk bags come in various shapes and sizes and are tailored to suit specific customer requirements. All Colquhoun's branches carry a large range of bags in stock and if we can't supply you the right bag from these stocks we can import the correct items from our suppliers overseas.

All Colquhoun's bulk bags are manufactured under the ISO-9000 quality system which give our customers the confidence that they are buying a quality product that will not fail them. All bulk bags are tested and comply with the Australian standard AS-3668. Certificates of compliance are available on request from accredited testing houses and to ensure that we maintain our high standards random samples are regularly taken for testing during production. Colquhoun's can also supply bags rated for Dangerous Goods handling, and we have several customers who currently use this type of bag. Dangerous Goods bulk bags require a more stringent testing regime and Colquhoun's have substantial experience in this area.

Colquhouns are also members of the Australian Flexible Bulk Container Association of Australia otherwise known as AFIBCA. This is the industry body which regulates bulk bags in Australia.
